Minneapolis Church Hosts Future Conference
Minneapolis, Minnesota, has featured quite a lot in the news recently.
Most people are aware of the major bridge collapse which occurred a few weeks ago.
However, there is a lot more going on in the city, which is host, for example, to the Speak the Word Church International, one of the region's most creative and vibrant churches.
Mal Fletcher recently visited as the featured speaker at a three-day symposium on The Church of 2020. He taught themes covered in his book 'The Church of 2020' and from his new book 'FIVE BIG IDEAS: Concepts That Shape Our Culture'.
This was Mal's fourth visit to this major church, at the invitation of pastor and life coach Randy Morrison, who is well-known in parts of America for his work on TV.
Mal's teaching was very well received, with many people reporting that it made them think and was refreshing in both style and content.
Mal said after the sessions: 'This type of material is, I guess, fairly different to what is taught in most charismatic churches across the States. But I know from experience that Americans are as hungry as Europeans to try to understand and their influence the future direction of our culture.'
'Fortunately, leaders like my friend Randy are thinking along these lines and planning to leave a legacy of truly generational influence in their cities and beyond. We need more local church leaders and Christians generally who think in this way.'
It was a quick visit for Mal, who will be speaking in Kiev (Hillsong church) and the Olympic Stadium in Amsterdam (AOG Centenary celebration) in the next two weeks, followed by visits to Riga and Oslo.

Your article about Daniel in Babylon is spot on. As 21st Century Christians our challenge is to find appropriate forums to join the conversation & refrain from adopting a defensive posture.
