Mal at 50!
A personal note: Mal Fletcher celebrated his 50th birthday today, October 23, while on a short break in and around Naples, Italy.
Touring historic Pompei, Mal said: 'Turning 50, I'm not so sure it's a good idea to be looking at the ruins of old things as in Pompei! But at least it reminds me of how young I really am, in the bigger scheme of things!'
'Seriously, God has been good to us and I have much to be thankful for.'
'The Lord has kept his word, to give us the desires of our hearts, if we stay committed to him and his calling. And it's good to turn 50 in the same year as the EU!'
'Being a follower of Jesus is not always easy, but it's always an adventure -- if you're committed to making God famous above all.'
'Davina has done a great job in organising this surprise trip to Italy, which has to be one of the best countries in the world for a short holiday and birthday celebration.'
Friends from various parts of the world have emailed Mal to wish him well.
'I'd like to thank the friends who've written to say happy birthday.'
'Having friends is so important, and Davina and I have been blessed with some very good friends indeed!'
If you'd like to wish Mal a happy birthday, or just write to encourage a friend, it's not too late. Just email: mal50@nextwaveonline.com.
Mal will receive the emails directly and will answer each one personally next week.

I accidentally came across your EDGES programme on Robotics whilst studying nanotechnology. I'm not Christian, but I want to compliment you on being much more scientific than I would have expected.

As a Care Home Manager for older people...[I see that] the culture of the family unit has changed, but I'm heartened by those that come to work as carers & give quality care & love to the residents.

Thanks so much for visiting Speak The Word Church International (Minneapolis). I am a baby boomer who sat with a GenXer - we both knew that what you said was right on. It made me think. I like that.
