Dublin Rocks!! Major New Event Launch
History was made in Dublin on Saturday November 6, with the launch of that city's first new Youth Events, under the name 'Xposure'.
The event, called 'Lost in Space', drew young people from across the city and from across Ireland. Busloads of people drove for some hours from outlying areas to be part of an experience they will never forget!
The event was headed up by a team of local leaders led by Sean Mullarkey, in cooperation with Mal Fletcher and Next Wave International.
Over 1400 people packed into an old theatre which has become a very fashionable concert venue in this very creative, youthful city.
Mal Fletcher preached in his typically passionate youth event style.
100 people made first-time commitments to Christ!!
Sean Mullarkey, leader of the event team, said, 'Nothing like this has ever happened in Dublin!'
Mal said later: 'What was especially moving for me was to see that everyone on stage and behind the scenes, aside from me, was Irish. The guest band (Brian Houston and Band) were from Northern Ireland and the worship team, dancers and everyone else were from the south.'
Gary McDonald, pastor of St. Mark's, the major evangelical/charismatic church in Dublin, promoted the event widely in advance of the day and later spoke with real feeling about the fact that this was a breakthrough for Ireland.
Sean Mullarkey and his team drew young people from many churches together for the event. This is one of the first times the churches in the city have worked together on this scale, across denominational lines.
Counsellors were very quick to begin praying for people all over the building. Many of the people had to go to the bars at the back of the venue to meet the counsellors - God can do it anywhere!
Preparation for the event started over a year ago, when Mal first visited to speak at a special pastors' and leaders' event. From that time, the leadership team was formed and the support of the churches has been wonderful.
This is the first of many event for Ireland. This was clearly an idea born of God in the right time for this nation!

Hey Mal, I'm in Melbourne & grabbed your book Making God Famous. I was inspired as you told the story of leaving Youth Alive & going to Europe. People who maintain their passion are an encouragement to us all.

Mal, it was good to see you at Christian Broadcasters Conference 07. You have an insight & perspective that's extremely helpful as the UK Christian Broadcasting industry slowly grows up & matures.
Tim, United Kingdom
Passion: I think it flew out the window the moment political correctnes reared its ugly head! So much in the world today is bland and lacking in intensity but I don't want to calm down!
Ann, Australia
