SLC Summit Kicks Off Next Week
The annual Strategic Leadership Consultation (SLC), hosted by Next Wave International, takes place from May 6-8, 2010 in southern Spain.
The event brings together church network and national ministry leaders from various parts of Europe. Every one of these leaders is heading up something influential in their nation.
Over the past 12 years, this unique leadership summit has become a 'must attend' for some of Europe's most creative and respected leaders.
In a recent letter to this year's invitees, the host of the summit, Mal Fletcher wrote:
'This will be the most impacting SLC summit yet. We're going to learn a great deal from the experience & insight of anglican Bishop Dr Michael Nazir-Ali.'
'He is quite unique in his determination to call Europe back to its Christian cultural heritage and is also now a major advocate for the cause of persecuted Christians worldwide.'
'Born in Pakistan to a Muslim family, he understands the challenges and opportunities posed by Islam today, and his education and clear thought have at times brought him to the forefront of the cultural struggle for Europe's heart.'
The forum will also feature a live video hook-up with Tim Costello, CEO of World Vision Australia, whose ideas on social change from a church base have made him a popular and at times provocative advocate to both church and secular society.
Dr Tony Campolo, renowned sociologist and speaker, also features in the event. Mal Fletcher recorded a special TV interview, for the SLC event.
Mal adds: 'SLC isn't a conference in the typical sense of the word. The emphasis is not on inspiration, but on the sharing of concrete ideas and strategies that will allow us to reshape Europe's future through engagement with cities and nations.'

Hi there. I watched your EDGES programme today about fear. It was very interesting and was, I thought, presented in a very intelligent way.

EDGES is very helpful and informative from the Bible's point of view. Do please keep up the good work.

I think yours was the best and most succinct critique I've yet read on 'The Da Vinci Code'. As you say, we can still use it as a platform for presenting the real gospel.
