www.nextwaveonline.com News EDGES S6 Pilot 'Crime and Punishment' 04 December 2003 The first cut of the pilot for Series 6 of 'EDGES with Mal Fletcher' is now complete. Mal and the production team viewed it recently and all agree that, with finishing touches, this will be one of the best EDGES programs to date. In a recent interview, Mal said, 'If we're going to reach Europe, we must do more than planting churches and raising up leaders – and Next Wave is very involved in both of those! Most people in Europe don't go to church, but they do have a TV. We've got to go where the people are and speak where people are listening. Most of them won't watch Christian TV either, so we need to be with secular broadcasters.' At the end of the pilot's production, Mal faced an agonizing decision: whether to go ahead with phase two of the production (the remaining 12 in the series) or wait for funding to arrive. Once again, Mal took a stand of faith and has announced that production will go forward 'as long as funds allow.' At the time of writing, that would mean production would wrap up in early March, three months short of the end date. 'We don't spend any money on broadcast – anywhere in the world. That alone is a sign of God's favour on EDGES! It's very rare indeed. Our commitment is to spend money on the production, so that we can present to secular broadcasters the very highest quality programs that explain Christian faith to people who think it has no relevance to them.' www.nextwaveonline.com |
