www.nextwaveonline.com News Generational Strategy for Key Leaders 01 February 2006 Key church and community leaders in Norwich, in England's east, recently attended a breakfast on releasing the future of their city. The guest speaker, Mal Fletcher, addressed the audience on the subject 'Millennials: Releasing the Future of Norwich.' In the session, he described the major characteristics of the Millennial generation which is now coming into adulthood. The material was based on several international studies conducted over more than a decade. The talk was entertaining, funny, moving and thought-provoking. Mal challenged the leaders to concentrate on the positive traits of the emerging generation, and to be proactive in preparing them for major influence in the community. 'Proactive and positive people win the battle for the future of a city,' Mal said, 'when leaders use their present influence to build a platform of future influence for the next generation.' The talk was warmly and enthusiastically received. The event was hosted by Pastor Tom Rawls, leader of Proclaimers Church who described it as a major success for the church. 'We are so honoured to have someone of Mal's calibre speaking in our city,' he said. Other breakfast events will take place in coming months as the church seeks to help raise the city of Norwich back to prominence. www.nextwaveonline.com |
