Brisbane Church Provides Community Leadership

Brisbane, Australia, is a city in the middle of a construction boom.
Not so long ago, Queensland's capital city had the feel of a very big provincial town. Now, though, new building developments and generational changes have brought a new sense of cosmopolitan life to the city.
In the midst of this, one of Brisbane's most well established churches is pushing into new territory in terms of Christian influence and good works in a major urban centre.
Brisbane City Church, led by Pastors Wayne and Lynne Alcorn, is not only presenting the Christian message in vibrant, creative and attention-grabbing ways; it has also become one of the city's major providers of help for the disadvantaged.
The church-sponsored refuges, training centres for the unemployed and other care facilities are now recognized within government circles as some of the city's most effective.
Recently, Mal Fletcher was guest speaker in the church services and in a special business leaders event sponsored by the church. He and Davina were impressed with the scale of the church's current community outreach and its vision for future development.
