His Will, His Bill

Revelation 1:8 '"I am the Alpha and the Omega," says the Lord God, "who is, and who was, and who is to come, the Almighty."'
So many people in today's world grow tired and many burnout because they feel they're struggling to keep control of their lives. Many Christians get that way too. They feel that living out God's plan for their lives is a major battle all the way; a colossal struggle against forces that are just too much for them. But the fact is that God doesn't expect me to wear my call like a heavy stone around my neck! He doesn't expect me to start and finish the deal on my own. He alone is Alpha and Omega – he's the one at the beginning and the end. As my Father, he was there for my first faltering steps as a Christian and he will be there to catch me as I cross the finish line of life! Throughout my life, he is the one who issues the promise. I stand upon it. Then he fulfills it. He sends forth his word, I speak it and he performs it. You see, the total burden is not on me. Whatever is God's will is also 'God's bill'. He'll find a way to make the ends meet! I have the joy of responsibility, of playing my part in a great creative process, but God takes the burden of final control. What a great way to live!
Prayer: 'Lord, forgive me for taking on what isn't mine. I don't need to be in total ultimate control because you are! Help me to live responsibly, but to remember that you will see me through.'
