Fuelled By The Promise

Genesis 12:1-2 'The LORD had said to Abram, "Leave your country, your people and your father's household and go to the land I will show you. I will make you into a great nation and I will bless you; I will make your name great, and you will be a blessing.'
God's vision for our lives is always sparked by call, but fuelled by a promise. God never issues a call without attaching a promise. He always reveals something of what will happen if we obey the call. A call without a promise is just a frustration waiting to happen. Many Christians have the spark in their engine. Their ignition has been triggered by an experience or a revelation at some time. The motor is running. But they have no fuel to keep the spark alive, so they constantly need to be 'revived' in their call. That's because they either haven't waited around long enough to receive the promise, or because they've received the promise and locked it away, refusing to act on it. Abram called to leave Ur, and he was promised a greater nation as a result. Noah was called to build the ark and promised a covenant of protection with God. If you've received a call, seek God for the promise.
Prayer: 'Lord, I know you have made great promises to me in your Word. Lord, open my eyes to some promises that are specifically for me and my future.'
