More Teen Deaths As London Knife Crime Grows

07 July 2008

Last week, another teenager became a victim of London's escalating knife crime problem.

Ben Kinsella, the brother of a popular soap-star, died in an unprovoked attack on the street.

Ironically, Ben had written a letter to Prime Minister Gordon Brown calling for more help for parents and tougher measures to halt this growing menace.

The letter began: 'Youth violence hits deadly peak. When will it stop?'

Ben suggested a key factor was the lack of respect and trust between parents and children.

Read Mal Fletcher's social comment editorial on youth gangs, and last week's posting on youth violence.
