Lisbon Gets Wired Leadership!

Portugal is a nation of 10.6 million people. Fifty-two of its counties have no evangelical churches.
Mal Fletcher was keynote speaker at a recent city-wide conference hosted by one of the city's most progressive and resourceful churches.
Under the banner 'Mission in the Wired World', Mal addressed the issues of present and future cultural change and how these impact on the way the church shares its message.
Pastor Carlos Cardosso, founder and host of the conference, said: 'Some key people have said to me that bringing Mal here was absolutely the best thing we could have done to help us equip our churches for the next ten years.'
'We would love him to come back - and we're planning something already.'
Mal has visited Portugal some seven or eight times, and each time has found a very hungry and thoughtful audience for his message.
After this event, he said: 'I'm really looking forward to seeing what comes out of Lisbon over the next few years, in terms of Christian leadership and witness.'
'Whenever I speak here, whether it's to a leadership event or an open one, I get the impression that these people are really engaging with what they're hearing; that they want to actually do something with it!'
Some of the key leaders involved with this event are part of the annual Strategic Leadership Consultation hosted by Next Wave International. This year, it takes place in Spain, May 6-8 and will bring invited church network leaders together from 15 or more nations across Europe, for a high-level strategic summit. Click here for more.
