Packed House in L.A.
During two days of sessions in Los Alamitos near L.A., full-house crowds heard Mal Fletcher speak on overcoming burnout and winning the battle for influence in contemporary culture.
The sessions were held at Cottonwood Christian Centre, led by Pastor Bayless Conley.
Cottonwood CC is a rapidly growing church of over 8000 people. It recently attracted favourable media attention across the US during a bold stand against a local council ruling that threatened to rezone its new church property.
The council decision threatened to put an end to plans for a major community project that would benefit the entire city, replacing it with another shopping mall. This despite the fact that the church's plans met all existing regulatory requirements and had been given earlier approval by council. In the end, the council was forced to back down and a settlement deal saw the church come through with an even better property -- which included 10 extra acres in a better location and at a bargain price!
After this his fourth visit to the church, Mal said, 'Cottonwood is one of my favourite churches anywhere. It is very positive yet very down-to-earth and real. Anyone in the LA region who's in need of a great spiritual home could do no better than hooking up with this great group of people. They're really going somewhere!'
Bayless Conley will be one of the guest teachers at the Next Wave International MASTERCLASS, June 2-6, Trondheim Norway (see www.nextwaveonline.com/MasterClass)

Hi there. I watched your EDGES programme today about fear. It was very interesting and was, I thought, presented in a very intelligent way.

Thanks Mal for helping us see the US gun laws issue from an ethical perspective. Our right to possess guns (or any other right, for that matter) is surely insignificant when compared to our responsibility to preserve life.
