Next Wave International Next Wave International™ is a faith-based communications group >which is
training organizations to engage the future & move society forward
in a positive direction. Founder / Director: Mal Fletcher

A meeting of church network and national ministry leaders from 20 European nations hopes to change the spiritual direction of Europe.

In May, Next Wave International will host the Strategic Leadership Consultation (SLC08:MAINSTREAM), in Malaga, Spain.

'The Church wasn't designed to exist at the edges of society, irrelevent and unnoticed!' says Mal Fletcher, chair of the summit and director of Next Wave International.

'Some say that Europe is "post-Christian" - actually in many ways it's pre-Christian again, and ready for an Acts 2 kind of church.'

'The head of the British Army recently reminded us that wherever a spiritual vacuum exists in a nation, something will invariably move in to fill that space.'

'In some parts of Europe today that something is radical Islamist fundamentalism, in others it is atheism and secularism; in others, rampant consumerism.'

'More than ever, the church needs a vibrant voice that creatively engages the culture and reshapes it in a positive, godly direction. The SLC08:MAINSTREAM event is all about addressing that challenge - with creativity, compassion and courage.'

This year's SLC event celebrates ten years of these meetings, which have helped leaders redefine the aims and practical strategies of their churches and organisations. Guest contributors include:

Dr. Patrick Dixon. Europe's leading futurist; a man recently ranked as one of the 20 most influential business thinkers alive today! He regularly speaks to Forbes 500 companies & is founder of ACET, a worldwide Christian charity helping those affected by HIV/AIDS. Watch a clip.

Dr. Joel Edwards. The General Director of the Evangelical Alliance UK - which represents 1 million Christians, in 30,000 churches - and one of Europe's finest Christian strategists. Joel is also the leader of Forum for Change and a driving force behind the Hope 2008 campaign across the UK. Hear a clip.

Steve Chalke, MBE. (Via specially recorded SLC08 TV interview, with Mal Fletcher). The founder of Oasis Trust Global and Faith Works, Steve has been influential in many areas of British society and is now at the forefront of efforts to launch major faith-based schools across his nation.

The SLC events offer a unique opportunity for senior leaders to hear from experts in producing long-term change and to share ideas, and pray together for a change in the spiritual direction of Europe. The forum also attracts key leaders from as far afield as the USA, Australasia and South Africa.

'What this forum brings is a prophetic insight into what God might be saying now, to the church and to Europe as a whole,' says Clive Urquhart, leader of the Kingdom Faith church network in the UK.

'We're creating an extraordinary network of friendships with people who share the same vision for Europe,' adds Robert Radix, leader of a significant church network in France. 'We're not just looking ahead to the next five years, but to the next 15 or 20 years.'

A special series of six TV programmes, drawing on highlights from the 2006 event, was seen by TV audiences around the globe on God TV. Past contributors have included Reinhard Bonnke, Joel Edwards, Winkie Pratney, Steve Chalke and Arthur Blessitt.

The event is open by invitation, but Next Wave International welcomes contact from church network and ministry leaders who would are interested in learning more. Please contact Next Wave International:

A great article on 'Hybrid Stem Cell Research'! It is not only highly relevant to current research but also shows how just a little initial compromise will eventually cause an unstoppable downslide in ethical standards with irreversible outcomes.
